Thank the Lessons that Return Again and Again

Ask yourself, where do you learn your lessons? Are you in the shower? Are you laying in bed before sleep or right after waking up? Are you running outside or moving in the gym? Are you playing drums or reading a book? Sometimes, getting familiar with the most common environments we tend to learn our lessons will help us be more receptive to them. Maybe when we’re able to recognize that we learn here, there’s something worth exploring here. Take notice if you encounter yourself in these spaces. Then begin to tend to the part of yourself that's receptive to change and open to shifts in perspective. Just in case, even if slight and subtle, tune into the part of you that can shapeshift. This is where change happens.

We may find ourselves thinking “I’m tired of learning the same lessons over and over again.” Instead can we see that as part of our natural cycles? These lessons don't have to be patterns we’re trying to break. We get to return to them again and again. With time, I grow to thank the same lessons that come back. With enough attunement and discernment we can begin to live the luxury of receiving the same lessons, so we get the opportunity to go deep with our wisdom. So to those pesty little lessons that keep popping up in familiar places: thanks for showing up again so I can return over and over to what I know to be worthy of my devotion.
